Tracey Emin - Exorcism of the Last Painting I Ever Made (1996)

Tracey Emin lived in a locked room in a gallery for fourteen days, with nothing but a lot of empty canvases and art materials, in an attempt to reconcile herself with paintings. Viewed through a series of wide-angle lenses embedded in the walls, Emin could be watched, stark naked, shaking off her painting demons. Starting by making images like the artists she admired (i.e. Egon Schiele, Edvard Munch, Yves Klein), Emin’s two-week art-therapy session resulted in a massive outpouring of autobiographical images, and the discovery of a style all her own. The room was extracted in its entirety, and now exists as an installation work.”

Black Sheep Theatre presents:
THE HUNCHBACKS OF NOTRE DAME (a comedy)
created and performed by Matt Chapman, Josh Matthews, and Sarah Petersiel

at the Gladstone Theatre  (910 Gladstone ave, Ottawa)
October 21-November 1st, 2014
7:30 pm Tuesday-Saturday / 2:30pm Saturday & Sunday

Meet The Hunchinson Family Players – a theatre troupe of hunchbacked siblings hoping to turn their luck around with an adaptation of Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Paul has artistic vision. Johann has merchandise. Hilda has room in her bed.

The Hunchbacks of Notre Dame is an original physical comedy complete with musical numbers and improvisation. Like the novel, the show explores power, beauty, and betrayal – but with more confetti. Hugo’s classic gets the production it never deserved.

Recently Kaige told us he wishes he could be both a boy and a girl because he likes playing princesses as much as ninjas and he doesn’t want to get made fun of. So we bought him a tutu and gave him a makeover. Meet the new and improved Kaige. If you have a problem with it please keep it to yourself and kindly stay out of his life. Which would be a shame because as you can see he’s freakin’ awesome! #letmebeme #mumblr #stopbullying
